Special Day

I was creating some fun cards the last couple
of days and made this card to share today with lots and lots
of Spellbinders dies and a M-bossing folder.
It was really fun to do all the textured layers and
I used one of my favorite My Minds Eye 6x6 pads- So Sophie.

The color isn't so great but if you click on the
closeup it is alot more of what the card really looks like.
So for this card I used the Venetian Motifs die,
Scalloped Labels One, Standard Circles Lg,
M-Bossabilites Flower Fun, and last but
not least Classic Edges Decorative Inserts E-8010.
The stamp is from a new set of sentiments that
i just got from Penny Black called "Gratitude" and
it's filled with wonderful things to stamp on cards.

Here is a closeup of the embossing on this card.
There is so much texture on the papers and the flowers too.
Thanks to all the fun things at Spellbinders it is
getting harder and harder to make flat cards!  LOL!
And besides it's just way too much fun....

Around the sentiment I used Platinum Brillance ink and
rubbed a little with a dauber around the edges.
It made the Venetian die pop more and gave it a more
old world effect and it's always fun to
try something new whether it is a new paint or ink
or whatever is fun and new out there on the market.

Thanks so very much for stopping today
and hope you all have a wonderful creative weekend!

Back to Scrapping

Yesterday we were all commenting on how far behind
we were with our normal pages so I thought I would take
a break these next couple of days from designing and do
a few of my own pages to get caught up.

I recently found a wonderful sketch site (creative scrappers)
done by Kristen Davidson who by the way also redid my blog
and made it beautiful!!  So I am doing some of her sketches
to get caught up a little.  My page today is our trip to Disneyland
with my daughter and her best friend.  We all had such a great
time and so did she.  They give her a cute little button and all
the employees told her Happy Birthday and it made it really
special and a very Magical day.  How many people can say
they had a parade, a fireworks show and a watershow on their
birthday right.  It was really, really fun....

I used sketch # 213 for this and changed up the sizes
and parts but basically its close.  I love using the
sketches because they give me quick ideas to do
something different on each of my layouts!

and I dug out lots of my old things and used them
so I only bought card stock for this....

And we just got a new shipment of Viva Decor Pearl pens
that have glitter in them and it was the perfect little
bit of sparkle that I wanted for my page.

So that's it for today but will have more to share.
So sorry about not having my new book ready for Monday
but I got a really amazing phone call over the weekend and
had to create a few things to get in right away.. I will
share more when I find out hopefully some good news!

Have a great day and remember to get out all those
things in your stash and make something fun today!

Hugs.....

August Card Club already?

It's time again for Card Club at the store and this month
I promised all the girls that we would start early with
Holiday Cards and since I love Fall and all the
fun things to do during it, it was great to start them so soon!!

This month we are working with lots and lots of New
Penny Black Stamps!  They are gorgeous and there is lots
of fun script for sentiments and lots of variety in styles.
I love the masked cat with the pumpkin and one of my
favorite Whipper Snapper stamps with the ghost wagon..
Truthfully they are all cute and I can't wait to dig in
and make some really fun cards with the other styles out too!

I will take some photos and post of the card creating fun
in the next 2 days but until then have a super great day
and Happy Cardmaking to you!

Journal Monday #3

It's another Monday already and I am a little late in
posting but I am doing lots of things for Spellbinders and
the store I have to finish and my I photo was being a little
crazy to load pictures today but I have a few to share and a
fun idea for pockets on my School Journal today.
I wish that I had made these for my kids each year
so that I could have them write about their friends and all
the things that happened in school from their point of views.
I met a teacher too that said that writing in journals for
kids helps them in so many ways so I guess that by itself
is a good enough reason to help your kids create them!

So today I didn't put so much on the front and created
lots and lots of pockets on the front page and inside to put extra
goodies from the school year.  I didn't want it too busy so i used
the stickers and borders that came in the set from
Creative Imaginations that I used from Samantha Walker.
I do think I have found a good use for all the twine that
i bought though.  It's skinny and works really good for
tying things on and pages in the books too..

This is the opening page and just like the front
has a pocket for goodies so do all the other pages.
I wish I had more paper to do more but I will have
to go out and get a few more sheets to add on later.

I used lots of the sticky borders to create the pockets
and lots of tags to decorate with.

This was a really fun and easy journal to do and I
can't wait to find someone to give it to or maybe i will
just do it for a combined journal for both of
my kids so I can keep it as a quick memory for me!

Hope you got inspired and stop back next Monday
for a fun Gratitude Journal for Fall.
Thanks for stopping over today!

Bella Blvd Birthday goodies

I finally got my things loaded on so today I can share
a few of the things I did for HNC with the
New Bella Blvd Birthday lines.  I can't say enough
amazing things about this paper!!  It's all wonderful!!!
The perfect tags, papers, little flags and prints to cut
apart are some of my favorite things.  And the colors
are just so pretty for both boys and girls. Just love it :)

So here is some of the girls projects first....

One of the papers in the collection has these cute
little flowers all over it and I couldn't resist cutting them
all up and creating a little ledge under the photos...
Aren't the colors just so pretty!  And you see the little
Birthday girl little pearl pin on the top right too...

I love these little clear purses that you can
get because they go together so easy and you
can put little gifts inside like jewelry or maybe
even a gift card to their favorite store!

I love all the fun tags and stickers that you get
with the boys line.  It's really fun to cut them up and
create fun pages for your books and there is lots
and lots of things to make cards with..

And last but not least my favorite card!  Normally big
huge dots and me don't go well but I love
this card!  I used part of the border on the top
and the dots for the bottom and then cut out
the tag from the page and added a cute piece
of matching twine to the top!
I even went back and got more papers for
my scrapbooks too!  So I hope you liked my new projects
and got a little inspired and I hope you all
 have a really wonderful weekend.

Hugs and Smiles....

Little Bits of my garden..

I was thinking that if I had to be a farmer how poor
and how hungry our family would be!!  Yikes.. we seemed
like we did ok this year and then the squirrels and birds
kind of made everything disappear.  And now that
the heat of summer finally hit everything is way too hot to grow!
Oh well, live and learn and hopefully next year we
can tweek a few things and have a real victory garden!

These are our new pumpkin plants and we have a few
on the vines and hopefully will get a few more
so that we can decorate for fall :)

This is my baby watermelon.. isn't it just so cute!

And I took this picture of my cheery tomatoes after the morning
watering.  There is some really neat drips on the bottom of them
and they taste really good too!  Yum!!

That's all to share today... my uploader for my chip is not
behaving so I have to get a new one but I have some fun
things I made from the new Bella Blvd hopefully tomorrow!
It's an awesome collection of papers and you can make some
wonderful cards with it.. so be sure and mark it on your shopping list!

And ---just wanted to give a Big Shout Out to Kristen for
making my blog more than just beautiful!! She is amazing too and
I really love the way that it came out... Thanks Kristen :)

Journal Monday 2

Today is my second in 6 posts of Mondays to share
some fun journals that I am creating.  This week I made
a fun tropical journal to take with me on my trip to Hawaii in
the future.  I am trying to use all the scraps and bits
of things I have bought so that I can put them to good
use and not just storage again.  And making these
journals does exactly that. And.... it's really fun!

This beach themed journal is using papers
from LYB 2012 Summer Collection and lots of
flowers and chipboard pieces.  I basically start
by cutting pieces to cover the journal and glue
that all down well and then I take the chipboard and
flowers that I made from the set and start laying them
out like a puzzle on top of it.  When I get them where
I want them I start gluing them down with glue dots
and foam dots to make it pop up and look really fun
and 3 dimensional. It's alot like making a collage.
Just grab lots of things and see what goes together
that you really love and then the magic happens!

I had some rhinestones that matched with this
so I added them on the flowers and around the page.
On the edge of my book I tied lots of twine and a bit
of fuzzy yarn and added some cute little flowers.
And don't forget to add the year and/or the date so
that you can remember when all the fun happened!

Here is the glues that I like to use.  I thought this would
be good to share because some things stick and some don't
and I have tried them all with all the years I have been doing this.
I love Scor Tape, Scotch Quick Dry, Glue dots and
Foam dots the best.  Another great product I just found is Xyron
Mega Runner the permanent one.  It's awesome and it's refillable.

So that's it for today, I hope you liked it and
be sure and check back next Monday for a fun
School journal filled with fun pockets and such!

Have a very wonderful day,

Quick simple cards for Wednesday

Hi Everyone.. I hope your summer is going
great and you all are getting lots of relaxing
time in.  We are all glued to the set every evening
watching all the Olympics at our house and dreaming
of going to London one day.  It is soooo beautiful there!
Not to mention the athlete's are pretty incredible too...

But anyway--- today's cards are super simple because
you use the tags made by MME for their papers.
I already had a 6x6 in my stash for these and I picked
up some of the tags while out shopping last week.

I really love the colors of this card
and to make it I just glued a few layers of paper
to a white A2 card and added this smile tag with
foam dots. The ribbon is some new Bias Ribbons that
I ordered from the Stamp Simply Ribbon
Store online.  They have an amazing selection
and lots and lots of variety too.  Be sure and
check it out, you will be hooked and
the owner Sharon Johnson is so very sweet!!

My second card is parts of lots of papers.
I cut out the tag on one that had all these cute
little mini tags and then layered other papers
under it.  The ribbons are pieces of yarn, bias and
ribbon I had in my stash so no extra cost there!
And I get a fun card to send someone special :)

Last card for the day today is using one of MME tags
that says Thanks.  I used my favorite Spellbinders
Labels Eighteen S4-310 to create a backround for the
letters.  I added some old Jessica McClintock lace
from my stash and it's all done.  So easy and quick
and I had them all done in an evening..

Thanks for stopping over today!!

Hugs and Smiles,
Teresa

Journal Mondays

Wow its Monday already and I thought that I would
post something new that I did yesterday with some
fun papers I got from Kaisercraft Check in Collection.
Since my kids are older and I finally get to travel more I
thought I would create a bunch of different journals so that
I had a place to record my memories and put bits of tickets
and things I collect along the way.  You see I am so guilty
of not scrapping them right away so having these journals
helps me to get all the info right when I am behind. And
it's a great thing for kids and then you get their version of
the story when they do things and go places too!!

So here is my first one for this Monday....

For all my journals I used an inexpensive Composition
book and I will be doing lots of fun things to change
up the insides of them each Monday.  But today --I
am sharing this one I did by cutting the different pieces
of the Travel papers and using a little bit of MME On
the Bright Side to mix in with it. Quick Tip: Cutting the
papers on their edges will give it more interest instead of
just flat rectangles and to age it a little-- i used a
Making Memories distress tool around all of them.

With all the amazing dies from Spellbinders released
I always seem to find something fun to add to my projects
and made a cute little camera and a photo edge for the side.
Since Spellbinders dies emboss you can sand the
edges and the designs pop out like on the camera!
It's a really cool thing and is great for vintage projects.

My favorite adhesive for these books is Scor Tape,
Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive, Scrapbook Adhesives
EZ Runner and some sticky glue dots for the flowers.
These work really good and will hold up nicely with wear
and tear on your books through time.  And if you want to
seal it you can use Beacon's Fast Finish Decoupage.  It's
thinner and doesn't bubble so bad. You gotta love that!

So that's it for today and hope you go out and grab
a stack of these composition books and join me on
Mondays to make some fun Journals for yourself and
maybe a friend or two :)
I will have dimensions available on the next ones but
this was one of those creative things that I decided to
do at the last minute so I apologize!  Have a fantastic
day and lots of smiles and hugs to you!

Oh how I love Paris

I went to my favorite scrapbook store yesterday
and picked up a few new things to play with
and one of them was the new Paris papers
by Carte Bella..  And are they ever adorable!!
My excitement is because it goes with the
just released at CHA. There is an Eiffel tower
and lots and lots of other cute little lacy bits to use.
I have lots of ideas for this but today I am just
going to share a few cards I did last night.

So... my first card is using the Spellbinders
just released.  I used it for a frame behind the
sticker and added a flag behind it and then
popped it up on a pink printed Lacey Ovals die.
Don't you just love the yummy pink colors and
how cute those little Parisian poodles are!  Me too!!
I added some tiny seed pearls around the saying
and wha la.... it's all done!

My next card is using the Eiffel Tower die in the
die set and a couple of the stickers from the Paris set.
I used a Spellbinders Edgeabilities to cut the
borders on the top and bottom and then used
a little piece of the border print in the 6x6 pad
to create the center.  It's easy to make by layering lots
of the cute pieces in the set and I finished it with a
cute bow and some rhinestones to match.
Love, Love, Love these papers and WTG
Samantha for creating all these gorgeous products
for us to create with!! It's beautiful and really fun!

That's all for today but be sure and check back
to see a few more fun things I am doing with
my New Spellbinders dies and lots of New
products from CHA!  Have a great weekend!

Hugs and Smiles,
Teresa
