Cardabilites #96 is up today....

Hi Everyone we have a brand new fun sketch
to use today from Cardabilites and we all
got the opportunity to use some fun printables from
Pickled-Potpourri Designs.  I picked the cross with the tulip flower
to do mine and i have a few others to share with you too.

My first card is using the printed cross that i
got and i cut/embossed it with a new Spellbinders
die set and layered it on another die with pink
and white solid papers.  I colored it with Copic pens and
used a little bit of distress ink to go around the inside of it.

My next card i followed the sketch and used a
clear glassine bag to put a gift card in for the
front.  I cut some Spellbinders dies to create
the top flap and also to decorate the front.  I wanted
this to be really vintage looking so I used paper
from MME and inked around all the edges with brown.

Here is a close up of the card and below
is the brand new sketch for this month.

And i have one more card to share this time. I
kind of went a little over board but the image
was so pretty and i had some flowers that matched
perfect and i colored her dress to go with it.
I used vintage dies and even a feather that i
had in my stash to work with it.  I really like it.

Thanks for visiting and i hope that you have time
to join us this month to play along with the sketch.
We love to see what all of you create and share and
you even have a chance to win prizes!!'
Have a wonderful day :)

New ideas for charms

As promised i am back again today to share a few more
things that i made with the Birds of a Feather charm set
sold at Butterbee Scraps.  This set really had cute charms so
today i am sharing 2 necklaces that i did and a card that
i used the charm on.  Grab some tea and relax.. i have lots
of ideas today to share with you.

So first up i really had fun with this pin that i did.
i started with a piece of white paper and inked it and let
it dry a little.  Then i made a template for the top of
the frame with an old piece of plastic and a sharpie and
then cut it out.  I glued it in the frame and then added 2 layers
of clear crackle paint and it came out really neat looking.

Then i glued on the back filigree and a pin back....

and then i added that pretty bird charm on the right.  I
thought that it would be really pretty to have flowers and
leaves on the bottom so i added some bead caps and cut
the leaves a little smaller and glued them at the bottom.

and then i went back after it was all dry and added more
Staz on ink in pink, green and aqua.  A few rhinestones and it's
ready to wear.  I will have to think of a cute jacket to wear it on!!
Maybe something bright pink would be nice i think.

Next is another necklace i did with the same frame and
this one i used the same template that i had and cut a really
pretty piece of paper to put in the back.  I added a pretty thick
layer of glossy accents and let it dry and just when it was still
stickly i pushed the birdhouse charm into the top and let it dry.
The chain and jump rings are from Butterbee Scraps too.

And finally my last project is a card that i did with the new
Doodlebug spring papers out.  I used another of the birdhouse
charms and one of my favorite new dies from Spellbinders
and a stamp from Justrite papercrafts.  It went together super
quick and i know exactly who to give this one to :)

To make my projects today i used these things
from the Butterbee Scraps online store:
Birds of a feather charm set, Cap247-B, F-094-B large Bronze
Cameo Frames, 254-B Bronze leaves and Jump Rings.

Thank you for stopping by and hope that you all have
a nice weekend and doing something fun where you live.
It's basketball playoffs time here so i am sure we will
be watching a few of the games :)  Take care!

Birds of a feather project

Good Morning everyone and i hope that you all
had a great weekend.  I taught 2 fun classes up at
Scrap N Yap over the weekend and had to recoup a little
so now it's time to get up another project this month using a beautiful
set of charms from Butterbee Scraps called Birds of a feather.
I have a few more projects to post this week but today
i wanted to share a pretty necklace i did using some of my
favorite inks from Tsukineko inks called (Staz On)

Staz-on is a fantastic ink that comes in so many colors it is
wonderful and you can color metals with it too
so i thought it would be fun to dab on some color on each of
the pieces to create a pretty water color type backround to
put my birdhouse on. The colors actually bled together
as i dabbed and it think it made it even prettier.

To make this project you are going to need these things
from the Butterbee shop: Birdhouse Charm set,
#678, #294, Bronze Chain, jump rings and bronze wire
or something to add the beads onto.

To start just dab on a little staz on ink wherever
you would like to on the pieces and let them dry.

Add a bead that you created at the bottom with your
jewelry tools and another bead on the metal that you
are going to color with a q-tip and staz on in pink.

Make 3 sets of the beads for each side by using one
of the clear beads then a ceramic bead and then a
clear bead as shown.  Attach them to each other with a jump
ring that you have put a bead on.  Add a piece of chain
to each of the ends of the necklace and then finish it
with a lobster claw and a jump ring to close it.

I really like the burnished colors in the metals and
it really sets off the colors in the ceramic beads that
i used for it.  Have fun and hope you will try
inking some of your pieces from Butterbee Scraps to
try something new with them and maybe create a few to give as
gifts maybe for Mother's day this year. It's really easy and fun.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to watch
all of the Butterbee Scraps You Tube Videos for
more ideas from the rest of our team.

I made a cute pin and another necklace to share Friday
so be sure and stop back to see ......

One of my favorite cards

Today i just want to share a card that i did for CHA
this past January and it's one of my favorites.  I used
Graphic 45 papers and one of the new dies that Spellbinders
is releasing called Lucious Labels One and it has one of my
favorite flowers on it from Die D-lites.

I used a piece of textured kraft for the back layer and then layered
pieces of the Graphic 45 paper pad cut with the Luscious Labels one
and with 3D foam squares inbetween. I made a really pretty flower
with two of the Die D-lites called Blooms 4- S2-047 and
with Corner Sprigs S2-049 and then added a gorgeous
rhinestone from Prima. The Happy Mother's day is from a stamp
set by Justrite papercrafts. I think it came together really well and
it's one of my favorite cards i have done so far.

Thank you for stopping over and i hope you have a
really nice day and make something fun!

Cardabilites #95 is up today...

It's time for another new reveal from the fabulous
Karan Gerbers Cardabilites sketches.  I really had fun
with this one,  I am teaching a class next week so i thought
i would get in a little more practice with the flowers.

For my card i used some beautiful peacock inspired
papers from Authentique called "Dream a Beautiful
tomorrow". It's a small 6x6 pad and it seems i am going to
these alot more lately.  I love the tiny prints and i really
like the way it looks for cards.  I kept true to the sketch
and just changed up the basic backround a little.
I stamped and made my own flowers and curled them
ever so slightly and added some greenery underneath it.

There is lots of wood patterns out there and I  think this teal one
looks really nice paired with all the flowers. My saying is
"Good Things are worth the wait" from Verve stamps.
 I really like that too.

Thanks so much for stopping and don't forget to
leave a comment to say hi and let me know where
you are stopping in from.  Our sponsor for
this month is Inspired by Stamping and Wow do
they have lots and lots of beautiful things on their site!!
And there is prizes so be sure and join us with one
of your beautiful creations using the sketch :)

Have a wonderful day...

Charmed I'm sure...

Who doesn't love charms?  I collect them everywhere
I go because it's the one simple thing that can really add
to a card.  This month my Butterbee projects will have a
charm theme to all of them and wow you should see what they
carry in the shop.  They have so many cute sets that are themed
and you can use them together or use them for lots of other
cute projects that you are doing.  Today i am sharing the heart set
and I made a cute dangly bracelet filled with lots of sparkling gems
and 2 cards with some of my favorite new dies and charms.

To make my bracelet you will need the following things:
Teatime Charms, Silver chain, silver jump rings, silver lobster clasp,
and tools to put it together as shown.  I really love mine and they
are from Beadalon.  I think the better your tools the easier it is
to create really fun things and these work really good.

Here is a closeup so that you can see the charms better.
I doubled the chain but really only attached the charms, rhinestones
and the crystals onto one of them.  Aren't they just so pretty?

For my card i used a new die from Spellbinders for the
backround called French Harmony.  I cut it out of blue
cardstock and glued it on to a simple white card.  Then
i tied a ribbon around the center and attached a rose charm
from the set with chain i had left over from the bracelet.
I stamped the sentiment on the white paper and then cut and
embossed it with the new Labels 34 die set.  To finish it
i added 3 small thin strips of white on the top and the bottom.
It was super quick and easy to do. Oh and the stamp is from
one of my new sets that i just got from Verve Stamps.

For my next card I found this really cute Tea paper to go
with the Teapot charm in the set you can see here.
The papers are from Graphic 45 and the die set is from
Spellbinders and is called Decorative Labels 34.  The
charm really gives it a cute little extra something.

That's all for today and I really appreciate that you took
the time to stop over and be sure and let me
know what you think or just say hi and let me know where
you are from, this is what truly makes crafting fun. Oh and be
sure and come back next Wednesday for more Butterbee charm ideas.
Have a wonderful crafty day :)

Verve Stamp Challenge to share

I have recently ordered a few stamps from Verve stamps and now
i can finally join in with some of the challenges to win some more
hopefully.  I really love what they have and all the sentiments are
super nice and they have so many to chose from... Yep I could go
on and on talking about them... they are really great stamps :)

So here is my card for the challenge using dots and
here is the link for you to see what it's all about....

I used the mojo sketch from last week to create the pieces of my
card and then created my own flowers using 2 of my favorite
Spellbinders dies, Rose Creations and Blooms One and did
a little mixing and matching.  The flowers are also yellow
and white dots.  This was a really fun challenge to do.

Oh-- and the papers i used are from Authentiques' Gathering
6x6 pad.  I went back through alot of my old papers and pulled
out some oldies but goldies to use and found lots of good things.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day as always :)
